Welcome...Please Pardon My Dust...

I'm finally redesigning my website. The links are...for the most part...not working right now. However, the links to websites I have designed (below) and the"Digital Paintings" link under "Art Gallery" on the menu at the top work fine.

I've decided to redesign my site using more up-to-date CSS designing techniques, which I am learning to use.   I plan to add a lot of new content as I progress.  I have a lot of writing to share with you and this will be an ongoing process as I move forward to integrate my writing with my artwork... gradually.

In the meantime, if you wish to contact me, you can send me an email by clicking HERE. I would love to hear from you.  My artwork is available as notecard sets or high quality matted prints in various sizes.   Please inquire if you would like me to print a custom order... just for you.

Web Design

If you stopped by to check out my web designs, you can see some samples here:

Adina Sara.com

The site was created in Dreamweaver 8 in July 2006.  I used a Dreamweaver  starter template then proceeded to change the template colors and menu and add my own logo design, PayPal shopping cart, MySQL database and PHP code to make the events page "updateable" by the client.  I made several changes to the layout as well. This was my first CSS design site.

Awakening-Oneness.com

This sight design was done in Dreamweaver 3 in early 2006.  It was a redesign and all the text was already done by the client.  I used Xara to create the menu and did all the layout, artwork, graphics and colors myself.  I edited and cropped the photos and added filter effects.  The colors were based upon preferences of the client.

Inner Image.net

The third sample was done about 5 years ago in Dreamweaver 3 and I did not use a template, but used tables. The design is 100% mine, based upon color preferences of the client.  I also created a slide show from photographs I scanned from the client.  The slide show can be seen by clicking on the first feather graphic on the home page.

Complimentary Cards.com

And this last site was one I created a few years ago just for fun. I developed the site from scratch using Dreamweaver and Xara. I created the animation and all the artwork myself.  The upload form no longer works as I have moved the site from it's original host.  I figure one day I will give the site to someone artisic to develop further.   It could be a nice home business for someone artistic.

My Digital Art Secrets I am often asked how I do my artwork.  In an attempt to answer this question and help others who might learn to love digital art as I have, I have written down some of my methods here for those who might be interested.

Finding Inspiration Finding inspiration for artwork has never been a problem for me.  Early on... I discovered a great tool to help me.  This tool is a "random seed generator".

It is a software tool that churns out random textures and graphics based upon certain settings that you can control.  You never know what the result will be and that is exciting.  Once you look at what the generator has created, many times you will "see" something hidden in the image.  It's very much like watching the clouds go by and noticing that the cloud looks like an eagle or like the profile of a man and so on. The most promising and exciting texture images are the ones I save to use later as starting points for my art.  I also incorporate my own digital photography into many of my compositions.  But the original ideas nearly always come from the random generated art.

I have acquired a rather large collection of this "starter" art over the last few years.  In fact, I have much more than I can ever use, so I plan to offer some of it here on the site for free.

Software Evolution My introduction into digital art was gradual and was spurred on by my curiosity about new graphic software I acquired. Most of the sofware was free.

I started out by playing around with a program called "PhotoDeluxe" by Adobe. It came free with an inexpensive printer I bought several years ago. I also used a free random seed generator program called "Reptile" by Sausage Software to churn out little random graphics. Some of them were indredible and they spurred me on to learn how to transform them and bring out the hidden images I saw when I looked at them.

Today, I use Photoshop Elements to do most of my digital art.  I also use illustrator occasionally and a few other small specialty programs for certain effects.

Filters and Plugins Where would I be without my filters and plugins.  Well, to be honest, I would not be quite so interested in the digital media. The filters and plugins available for Photoshop and other graphic software make the digital media attractive, versatile and so exciting.  I absolutely love to "play" with the colors in my images.  My favorite filters are "Harry's Filters" which I use on many of my images to acheive a beautiful flowing blend of colors.  The" Artistic -> Atmospherizer" filter applies an instant random blending of colors to an image and can be very lovely.  I probably use this filter more than any other.  I also love the artistic filters in Photoshop such as the "palette knife", the blur tools and the light rendering filter.  Creating digital art, for me, is an adventure and a mystery because so much of it is unplanned.  I never know what I will be creating until it "appears" in front of me.  Perhaps the hardest part is learning to wait for the right image to appear... one that will appeal to my heart and engage my mind and my natural attraction to learning new skills.
